SCHOOLS PLANETARIUM SERVICE With programmes designed to cover the relevant key stages of the National Science Curriculum. The presentations have been enthusiastically received by many schools, with pupils and teachers alike, enjoying the benefits of being able to sit under a perfectly clear, unpolluted night sky, and see such things as: DAY AND NIGHT - CONSTELLATIONS - ASTRONOMY OF THE ANCIENTS MYTHS AND LEGENDS OUR STAR THE SUN THE EARTH IN SPACE THE SOLAR SYSTEM PHASES OF THE MOON CHANGING SEASONS TRIP TO THE NORTH POLE Programmes can be tailored to meet your exact needs, and will usually include some interaction from the pupils. Each visit includes a set of worksheets and follow on material. The dome can easily accommodate a full class of pupils plus teachers. Each session lasting from 30 - 45 minutes (depending on age group etc). It is possible to fit up to 5 sessions into a full days visit (the dome can be easily removed to allow the use of hall for lunch if required). |
